Mountain Motel

This little place has several rooms with kitchenette, and one with a jacuzzi tub. Small motel, quiet, on east end of town. Owner/manager is very accommodating. There are several small cabins also. Each space is unique. Stay here for work and the kitchen setting is sooo nice

Very quiet, chill vibe (in January). Very friendly and welcoming staff. Hot shower, comfy bed, cool little backyard area for morning coffee. Loved the decor! Quilts, doilies and ski boots! Had a lovely time, this is on my very short list of places to stay again.

Update: we stayed 2 nights and liked it even more with time. Very clean and thoughtfully appointed. The shower is great. I appreciate a place that spends the extra $10 for an upgraded shower head. Also appreciate that it is the right height for those of us who are not basketball players. Nice hot yummy shower. The room heater is quick and quiet. The dining table is agreat place to eat takeout and have a warm drink after a day in the cold. And did i mention the large bath towels? Minimal sound from other rooms. And our brewed coffee was much better than that Kuerig ick. Mountain Motel: Salida’s best kept secret. Original review: This is a great place. The room is good size. Totally impressed that they have glass glasses, ceramic coffee cups, and a full-size pot for in-room coffee. To the reviewer looking for Coffee creamer, there’s plenty of it in the lounge. Real cream packets. Original artwork including peacock mosaic on the walls. Rich thick towels. The hotel advertises as pet friendly, and I can say not a hint of pet odor in our room. My boyfriend wanted me to mention the step out to the veranda. Nice details like barbecue grills available. Very quiet, clean, you can’t beat the price, especially in Salida. stay here while you can because soon there will be no more places like this. Proud family owned business. Nestled into the Rockies and has the most appropriate decor. The price was right. The room was clean and the staff was very friendly. Loved all the attention to detail in the flowers and decor. We really enjoyed our stay here! Beautiful location.

This will be my go to everytime now! The hotel we usually stay at in Salida was completely booked so I took a chance and booked at the Mountain Motel. I am so glad I did! I got cottage #4 at an amazing price and the dog fee is only $15! My cottage was clean and tidy. Completely stocked with any utensil, dish or pan you could need along with a fridge, microwave and range. Very spacious. I would live here if I could, I love it that much lol. The check in process was easy and fast with a friendly hotelier. If you're debating don't, this is THE place to stay. Well cottage 4 is, I can't speak for any of the other rooms of course. I already told my family who travels through here a lot and we will all be staying here from now on!

This was a great place to stay and price was competitive and comparable to other hotels in the area. The suite we stayed in was roomy, very clean, comfortable and even cozy. The staff was very very nice and personable. The code they offer is great as well and it’s grounds in a jar so you can make it the way you like it. Fridge and microwave in room. Beds comfortable and had air/heat units unlike many in colorado mountain towns. The small property was clean as well and felt safe. Convenient location. We enjoyed our stay here very much .

Let me say that I usually stay at a chain hotel of some kind on my work travels but when I saw this place online I really had to give it a go, and I have zero regrets. The room, #6, was charming. Decorated in a ski motif with copper accents in the bathroom and room. The standard amenities were all there, WiFi, TV, microwave and fridge. The things that made this special was the coffee pot was a "real" on with coffee available in a jar and filters to make your own pot. Very Nice!. There was a back door the led to a nicely maintained back yard area with lush lawn and tables and chairs. My dog (pet friendly) loved it. He didn't have to venture to a weed growing from a crack in a parking lot to have a pee. The bed was comfy, the outlets were accessible, the lighting was soft yet bright and not blinding to the eye. Overall one of the most comfortable places I have stayed all year thanks to the homey touches that the owners have put into their little "Cabin in the mountains."

The beds are worth it! Comfy mattress, clean sheets, fluffy pillows, warm blankets! This place is everything you need when passing through. It’s a dark cosy cabin vibe. My ONLY complaint is that it just had a window unit and no fan. (Visiting in August.) We stayed in the cottage (#4) and it has a kitchenette, dining area, tv, little bathroom with standup shower, mini fridge, etc. and good toilet paper is a plus!! Will be returning.
